The completion of a new Innovation Centre provides a hub for young innovators, entrepreneurs and visionaries. It is purpose built to provide a supportive ecosystem that enables technology and innovation to thrive.
The facility incorporates a library that has a wide selection of published texts, audio visual and digital resources supporting the curriculum and catering for differing interests from Art to Sport and everything in between. There are quiet study areas, collaboration spaces, reading areas and gaming spaces – all overlooking the school oval.
The Innovation Centre is a high tech hub with collaborative learning spaces that promote inquiry, creativity, collaboration and community for the students of Corinda State High School.
The school has referenced a lot of global research on learning environments and embarked on the journey to deliver innovative spaces that inspire creativity, thinking and curiosity. Every area of this building is defined as a learning space. Lemon Myrtle scenting fills the building and is intended to awaken the brain and help concentration.
When visiting this new Innovation Centre you can not help but notice the architectural detail that flows through each and every space. The effects resonate in the visual elements, scents and use of light and space. Our role to play was working with the school to create furniture elements that encourage both collaboration and spaces for students to relax and reflect.
